I find here that there are gaps in the chronology of my letter collection. My mother, a few letters earlier, mentions obtaining new stationery that is red and adorned with Scottie dogs. I have seen no such letters,  which I believe really would have stood out in my collection, if I had them, especially after an extensive search through all my papers and photos. The photo search did, however, produce a good stack of WWII vintage photos of family and friends, some of which I had never seen before, and which I will be adding to the slide show as needed. Perhaps some time in the future, they will turn up in a collection of another member of the family. Here’s hoping!
